There are still many net_server BeOS' out there - I don't remember 
which application it was, but the the recent net_server downloads was 
ten times the bone downloads (on BeBits).
Why should a broken kernel select require a userland implementation?

Anyway, when I will have a look at the userland stack, I will also have 
a look at select, if nobody screems :)
