Well, after some hints and tips from Bruno, I got net_server to compile
in kernel mode.
I disabled the old net_server and I compiled server, libnet and the
apps, and I did a make installdriver
After a reboot, I ran test1.
It either runs well, goes into KDL or runs halfway well.
I managed to snatch some results
$ test1
Thread 1, starting test...
Thread 2, starting test...
Failed! Socket could not be created.
Error was -1 [General OS error]
This was after I had created 0 sockets
Thread 1:
sockets created : 48262
test time : 10 seconds
average : 4826 sockets/sec
Test complete.
==================================
$ test1
Thread 1, starting test...
Thread 2, starting test...
Thread 1:
sockets created : 179315
test time : 10 seconds
average : 17931 sockets/sec
Thread 2:
sockets created : 179330
test time : 10 seconds
average : 17933 sockets/sec
Test complete.
I'll try to get some more results.
Please tell me what else I can do to give you guys useful feedback.
I'm running on an Athlon XP 1600+ with 512 megs of DDR ram, and a
Realtek 8139 10/100 HP network card.
I think the time I ran ping localhost I got about 0.2 msec, but don't
quote me on that
Pieter
