Thanks Axel. The set_alarm thing seems to be working. In fact it now runs
(after all the changes I made this afternoon) and with very few changes from
the bsd code. It doesn't actually connect as it's moaning about the socket
being already connected, but that's my next line of questioning. Guess my
raw sockets module isn't quite firing on all cylinders yet!
