We should never have to restart the machine itself, and very rare that we'd need
to restart the 'network stack', even if we do it in kernel land.
Also, debugging isn't really that hard in kernel land, if there's gdb hooks
set up, which I think newos has, at least partially. (Requires a second
machine and a null modem cable, but <shrug>)
