Well I read the latest newsletter and it mentioned that the RTL8139
driver is supposed to work now which is what I have so I thought I
would have a look at it
So I installed the OBOS networking stack with jam
but only the loopback device showed up.
I thought I would try with the latest code before I complained :-)
I figured since I was supposed to be on the media kit team that I might
have access.

PCI bus, device #8: NIC (Ethernet) [2|0|0]
Current configuration: irq [10]
io range: min d000 max d000 align 0 len 100
mem range: min df02b000 max df02b000 align 0 len 100
1 configurations
Bus-dependent information:
vendor id: 0x10EC Realtek Semiconductor
product id: 0x8139 Chip Number: RT8139A/B/C/D
Description: Fast Ethernet Adapter
It's a genuine realtek card. Works great with the R5 supplied driver.
As a question if I wanted to use the R5 driver can I just copy it
across? Do I need to symlink it as well?
Is it not a good idea to try the new driver out?
Cheers
David
