Thanks Brandon...
So I checked my router, it is set to 1 day. In Windows XP (physical install)
it indeed shows 24 hours.
Under Windows in Vmware, like Haiku, it show a lease of half an hour.

How can I test these renew/rebind times on OS X or Windows XP? Then I

I have no idea; maybe the "ipconfig" command will give you insight
under XP, and maybe the syslog shows you something on OS X.
However, if your router/VMware only gives out leases for half an hour,
we have to live with it anyway; it doesn't really matter a lot :-)
Bye,
Axel.
ipconfig /all
Last two lines for the adapter give the Lease Obtained and Lease Expires
timestamps.
