Speaking as a lurker (ie. 'one of those folks who hopefully are going to
try OpenBeOS once it's done' aka 'potential future customer'), 'Walter' is
so far the best name I've seen suggested. For the logo I'd make second
version without the nametag, but the beast in the circle is a winner.
The other names, especially those offered in the poll, simply don't sound
right - too cold, too forced.
