Yep:
$ ./p4 -V
Perforce - The Fast Software Configuration Management System.
Copyright 1995, 2004 Perforce Software. All rights reserved.
Rev. P4/ZETAX86/2004.2/69137 (2004/09/17).
$ getlibs p4
/boot/develop/tools/gnupro/bin/objdump: p4: no symbols
libsocket.so
libroot.so
libbind.so
So, it's working fine under R5 *with* BONE.
I guess older version (still) works fine with R5 with net_server.
Plus, for CVS-addict, there's a CVS-like frontend to p4:
http://www.bebits.com/app/2415
And don't forget the p4 tracker's add-ons for those who are not keyboard
cowboyzzz. Unfortunatly, they used to be on BeBits at
http://www.bebits.com/app/1626, but it's no more the case. I guess it still can
be found around on the web, BeShare... and on my hard disk ;-)
These tools can help people get used quicker to Perforce usage, lower a learning
curve I suspect being not so high anyway.
But that would be true too if someone cook up equivalent add-ons for CVS too ;-)
However, such move shouldn't slow all of us or it clearly don't worth it.
PS: I dream after a Versioning system able to take avantage of BFS attributes,
queries and Tracker integration for a far better BeOS-way of doing things
clever and cleaner... Ah, dreaming ;-)
