Well, I hate to mention THIS:
Vegas is a world hub... Cheap airlines in and out constantly.
International flights to/from every country on the globe that has an
airport (1 layover max). Mixed population of both visitors and
residents, you're bound to find someone who speaks your native language
within a few hundred meters. Cheap hotels (not necessarily on the
strip), and deffinately more than enough hotel rooms for the mesely
amount of people we could bring in (the population grows by 1 million+
every Friday through Sunday before returning to normal on Monday).
Plus, I'm sure there's a convention center type place that would rent
out floorspace fairly cheap, beit a real convention center or the local
University.
And since I live in Vegas, some of you can stay at my house =P...
but not all of you...

My suggestion is this. Hold the convention in
a city that is the hub of some cheap airline.
Denver
Sorry, had to mention it - beunited.org is headquartered in Denver (Littleton
suburb actually). ;) Now, what that means - I'm here, and pretty much only
me and 2 other avid BeOS users, and it'd be a pub down the street. :P
Maybe it would be a good idea to list out those cities that are hubs, and
then figure out which has the most local users.
