maybe it was..but I still think XML is the right choice.
OK you said that there was a discussion...any results? LOL..I sent an email
to beunited and asked if I can join the java porting team..lol..thay said it
is full..so we should a JDK 1.4 soon...cool..

Although not with XML, it's already been done before. If you check 
Marco Nelissen's website, he's got a preferences server for BeOS which 
already exists. The server vs everyone do their own thing was a subject 
of internal debate at Be, IIRC.
