If it's a bug that is likely to be hardware/system related, a syslog
is more or less mandatory to gain any insight to the problem.  So most
of the required info can be obtained from the one file.  The biggest
problem is actually getting people to provide the file.  Perhaps
certain types of bugs should require such a file to be uploaded when
making the bug?  But then again, if they are posting the bug from
another OS, they might be too lazy to go back and get it...  Catch
22... :)
