Please ignore that, it seems i can't reproduce it.

The driver now gets to the desktop, and it does have that black
stripe, but nonetheless it gets there. What i'll do is go away and
learn *alot* more about driver development, specifically graphics
hardware, and continue to tamper with the driver.

That is to say, i'll go back to learning/lurking :). Thx anyway Axeld!
