In short, this idea is plain stupid.
Longer answer: If you want to upgrade the kernel while keeping all your
programs at the current state then you not only have to record all the
kernel data (besides the user memory) but because a different kernel for
sure has different data structures you have to find a way to convert
your old ones to the new ones which is basically impossible.
