Haiku or BeOS do not properly support dual monitors. Therefor, the
additional options in the Screen pref are quite limited anyways. My
personal feeling is that the preflet doesn't need to change much because of
these reasons. What is there just needs to work with both ATI and NVidia
drivers.

Of course you are free to work in any direction you want, you can send the
results here. I guess I don't need to tell you that we Haiku nuts like it
simple and elegant, so if you manage to satisfy this taste (!), you are
likely to get your changes accepted. :-)

May I add, that a really useful addition would be to change both app_server
and the screen preflet to become aware of the default (preferred)
resolution of your monitor? So the Screen preflet would somehow indicate
the preferred resolution in the popup, while app_server would treat the
default resolution special when it saves/loads the settings. So that when
you plugin another monitor, and app_server reads its settings, it becomes
aware that the last setting was the default resolution at the time, but the
default has changed, and so it should ignore the old settings and switch to
the new default resolution. Now _that_ would be cool, and I have seen this
on no other OS I use.

Best regards,
-Stephan
