Doing a full SVG thing properly would need some API changes, but I 
don't think simply storing a 64x64x32bit or something bitmap would 
require anything major changing API-wise. Using the icons would need 
some changes in OT, but OT is already quite different to the tracker 
shipped with R5. If there was a plan to update Tracker's drawing code, 
I don't see any reason why it can't be done before R1 of Haiku, other 
than developer time.

I'm still interested in any responses to the main body of my post, 
without this reducing to an argument about the pro and cons of SVG icon 
support (which I agree is not an R1 thing anyhow)
