Hello bs,

I have good news for you. Even an "ordinary user" like you can try
some parts of Haiku!

To try out Haiku software, you need to first install BeOS. You can
download it for free at http://www.bebits.com/app/2680

After you install BeOS you can try some parts of Haiku. The easiest
way is to try the "jam packages" which are on the bottom of this
page: http://haiku-os.org/factory/ Many of these are drivers for
video cards or sound cards. There is also a networking kit package
and a translation kit package.

The other way to try parts is to download the "distro", which is at
http://haiku-os.org/factory/OBOS-Distro-x86.tgz This has many
programs in it from Haiku. Some work very well (like StyledEdit)
and others are not finished yet. It may be fun for you to try out
these programs. Enjoy!

Andrew
