This might not be the direction you wanted to give to this discussion,
but regarding specifically the GUI, i.e. creating a GUI quickly
and that does not get in the way, there are quite a few tools
under BeOS, both plain APIs, APIs wrapped in visual tools and
pure visual tools (woops that's 3 categories) that might help...
