I hope that you meant to write "to try to make" instead of "to try and make".
The latter phrase implies that you don't care what everyone else thinks and
that you will make it so anyhow.
I'm sorry to nitpick, but some common mistakes are just plain too
offensive
to let pass, especially when the meaning cannot be reverse engineered from
the author's words.
