Yep. It's called BMessage. ;) Seriously. BMessages are easy transfer
data into and out of, and the reading/writing part is handled with
Flatten/Unflatten in combo with BFile.
Although they're not readily editable as a text file. I think there's a
kernel_settings class or something, but don't know any more details, sorry.
