I have a rather crappy cable modem and my connection is okay in the
morning, but lousy in the afternoon and evening (European time).
When I try to do a cvs update when the connection is slow, broken
pipe errors are not uncommon. I also get this error when I resize
the Terminal window while cvs is working.
