Based on a successful model and templates developed in the NCLB STAR-W grant
program aimed at increasing literacy through the integration of technology,
teachers will learn how to create interactive writing prompts and knowledge
hunts that allow students to complete work online and submit it to the
teacher with a click of the button. All that is needed is Microsoft Word or
Appleworks and an Internet connection.

Program Description: Technology project management - it=92s not just about=

equipment! Learn strategies for handing the project from inception, to
initiation, to implementation, to integration. Discuss specific action
plans, timeline manipulation and successful team - building. Decide how to
schedule complex multiple tasks, keep aggressive guidelines, resolve
conflict and complete your project successfully.

Program Title: National Children=92s Folksong Repository
Program Description: Discussion of how students, using the computer, record
and submit their songs to the Repository. Presents ways the Repository uses
technology to accomplish standards-based curricular goals in music, language
arts, social studies, phys-ed and multi-cultural education. It=92s an
innovative, fun way for all teachers to get involved in technology=
education.

We will kick off the conference on Sunday night with a Welcome
Reception/Casino Night at 7:00 pm in the Chocolate Ballroom.
Elliot Masie, an internationally recognized futurist, analyst, researcher
and humorist on the critical topics of technology, business, learning and
workplace productivity, will be the Keynote Speaker at the Opening Session
on Monday, February 21. Michael Golden from the PA Department of Education
will close the conference with insight into how the Department plans to help
you become one with technology in your district.
While at the conference, you can visit the exhibit hall with over 200
exhibitors ready to discuss their products and services and how they can
benefit you and your district. An Exhibitor Reception will be held on
Monday evening at 6:00 p.m.
The conference banquet is on Monday night and is included with a 2-day
conference registration. Entertainment will be provided by Kenny I.
The student showcase will be returning this year. Students from all over
Pennsylvania will be at the conference to demonstrate their use of
technology in the classroom.
