Holy cow! Thanks a bundle for these. I will look into them and apply
them when time permits. I will be on vacation the next week, so I don't
know how quick I can incorporate them all.
I looked at them briefly and they all look good to me! With one small
exception: I will use /etc/my.cnf as the default file location for
backing up the MySQL config file, as this is the recommended default
location. I know that Debian (and obviously Gentoo?) put it in
/etc/mysql instead, but these users also know what they are doing, so
they should not have a problem with editing that section :)
