[mylvmbackup] backing up mysql on a linux-vserver guest server

I ran across mylvmbackup and am wondering if mylvmbackup can be used to back
up a mysql server residing on a linux-vserver guest. I have root access to
both the host server and the guess vserver inside which mysql is running.
The vserver guest resides on its own LVM volume. I'm wondering if running
mylvmbackup directly from inside the guest would work. If not, then I assume
the script, running from the host, could be enhanced to enter and exit the
vserver guest when needed, by issuing the commands "vserver <guest> enter"
and "exit" respectively. Thanks for any guidance.
