Agreed. Neither can Christ's call in his Sermon on the Mount be ignored
(well, not most of it. He was a bit hung up on sex -- or Matthew was. I
suspect Matthew). I don't know enough about Islam to point to any text, but
it has always impressed me as the most God-intoxicated and spiritual of all
the religions (read Rumi), and despite the current outbreak of extreme
violence, Islam is a religion of deep peace and respect for all people --
with that I concur and honor Islam. Hindu astonishes me with its jewels of
mutual reflexion, with its panoply of images, so desirous are Hindus to
extract the godhead from the wondrous, multifarious universe that they trope
and dance to more sacreds than the Catholic Church has saints. Agreed,
agreed, agreed. I agree with them all and abjure them all for I am the God
of my universe, thank you.
