[lit-ideas] Re: minority opinion on climate change

Habibullo Abdussamatov, head of the St. Petersburg's Pulkovo
Astronomical Observatory in Russia, says the Mars data is evidence that
the current global warming on Earth is being caused by changes in the
sun.

"The long-term increase in solar irradiance is heating both Earth and
Mars," he said.

I've always been a fan of Abdussamatov's but the National Geographic story
is unfortunately incomplete for those who aren't subscribers. The link
Eric provided ends with this provocative sentence 'Abdussamatov's
work, however, has not been well received by other climate scientists.'

Then: 'Continued on Next Page >>,' a clickable line. Clicking on it though
leads not to the next page but, well...nowhere, except to a National Geographic page from which one can go back to the original for-subscribers-only story.

One would like to know not only what Abdussamatov says but what the responses of 'other climate scientists' to it might be. Maybe Eric knows, but I hope for obvious reasons that he doesn't.
