Phil: I wouldn't know where to begin quantifying the value of my 'entire
culture' .... The moral point of this exercise has been lost to me. ...
Any attempt to fix what one is defending when defending 'culture'
strikes me as being hopeless.
You may have answered it above. You claim that you don't know, or can't
quantify -- that's an odd term -- the value of your culture.
So what are the value of values?
If as a Christian you believe accepting Jesus as your savior is
essential to your eternal salvation, and the Jovians were to come along
and wipe that knowledge from your memory, you and everyone would surely
face worse than loss of your life.
Would you rather bring about that total loss of salvation than destroy
the Jovian civilization?
