[LRflex] More Leica tid-bits

An interesting note on one of the other forums, regrading Leica and
fourthirds:
On one of the German Olympus 4/3 forums, several members recently
reported that Leica staff have repeatedly dropped a lot of hints about
possible Leica lenses for a future Panasonic 4/3 DSLR.
I know of no basis to this, but it seems reasonable. Moreover, it would
catapult Panasonic into the 'big leagues', while giving Leica a big
boost in lens sales. Something talked about before, here, was the idea
that Leica might make lenses in Nikon or Canon mounts. That idea,
however, is fraught with problems, though I'd still like to see it done.
Fourthirds lenses would have no patent problems and with Panasonic's
auto-focus technology and far-east production (assuming Leica does the
QC); Leica could do well, financially, if they get a "royalty" of each
one made, in addition to being paid to design the glass.
It might not make them rich, but it might keep them going until the
Digi-M and R-10D are realities.
That's nothing really new here, but it keeps the rumour mill running...
