Some more ideas guys,

I believe that Porter's out of Iowa has a fiber optic light source, or at
least they used to, that works well for close/internal lighting.

You can obtain a similar effect, by cutting a black plastic disc to cover the
front of a flashlight, one with a blue/white led light source. drill one or
two holes in the disc, and insert fiber-optic cables, obtainable at elecronic
supply houses like Radio Shack. Seal around the cables with black silicone
caulk and hold the cables in position with clamp-type parts holders, obtainable
from hobbie stores, to hold small parts in place.

Then you can position the light sources where you need them. The blue/white
LED's approximate daylight.

Hope this helps,

Art Tafil
