Bill -
I might try that myself. I just added the Nikon DK-21 eyepiece mag
to my 20D and am really seeing a much lower rate of trashing the raws
due to focus problems.
I also went out shooting on Sunday with my wife and I think
everything I liked (including the swallow pair above) was something
to which she drew my attention. OK... this Blue Heron made enough of
a splash that I suppose I couldn't have missed it (it landed so close
that I couldn't get the whole bird to fit in the APS-C sensor through
the Telyt):
When I first saw the Bighorn Sheep picture I said to myself, "Dang!
Where did David get that stuffed sheep to take up to the mountains
and pose him like that? That is really sharp, sharp, sharp!"
But then sanity kicked in and I said to myself, "Self, that fellow
has much better eyesight than you do."
Heck, I have difficulty getting shots that sharp with a 50mm at 20
feet with my aged eyeball.
Now the cat is out of the bag and I am a believer. I doubt no more.
Focus confirmation is now on my "Must Have" list.
It's a wonderful shot and I do appreciate your sharing that bit of
technical data.
