[jsfg_cinti] IT people: What is HIPAA and what does it mean to you?

All,
I went to a Breakfast Forum downtown this morning on economic conditions.
I was talking with the President of The Circuit and a Director at 5/3, and
we were discussing the glut leftover from Y2K and how it's still affecting
the IT market. The President of The Circuit mentioned that the next really
big thing is HIPAA compliance, which is required soon. HIPAA is set of
federal medical regulations and part of it requires privacy of medical
records by medical providers.
I'm not an IT person, so I don't know what that may mean to your job market
prospects. But it may be worth doing some research.
Take care.
