[JAWSLite] Re: consistency of two periods after spaces

This is an English-usage response to this. Two spaces after a period is a
mechanical solution to the fixed-space nature of typewriters, wherein the
period could be lost visually if only one space was used. It is not a
punctuational requirement. Kerning -- the controlling of whitespace between
characters -- is automated in wordprocessing software and you no longer need
to have two spaces. You can, of course, employ the various solutions
suggested if you want to put two spaces in. You could also insert an em or
en dash, found under the special characters/symbols area of your Insert menu
on MS Word. There is a short-cut key for both as well.
