[homeclinic] Insulating floors

Last year I insulated the floors of an apartment over a garage with 8 inches
of insulation.
There was a light outdoor type carpet. I laid down some heavier indoor
carpet and together the difference was like night and day.
This year I am contemplating insulating the house floors...over a 28"
crawlspace. There is standard carpeting over standard pads, with the
exception of the kitchen and bath...about 225 sq ft.
I am using a heatpump...in northern Mississippi. Will I save enough to
justify the cost?
