[homeclinic] Gas Dryer advice

Dave Harnish and group;

Looks like my old 20 year plus Norge dryer is about to be replaced. It
started tripping the 15amp circuit breaker. I removed the back cover and
found the insulation burned on one of the leads going to the tumbler
motor. Repaired that and it worked for a bit and then the same thing,
although this time I got lots of smoke out of the motor. I noticed lots of
lint in and around the motor. I was wondering if lack of cleaning in and
around the the motor could have caused the motor to go bad? I did keep the
vent and passage ways clear of lint but never got around to cleaning
around the motor.

 I checked around and replacement motors in my opinion are too expensive.
They run around $130.00. Seems new gas dryers start around $250.00. Does
anyone have any good recommendations on a good reliable replacement gas
dryer? I am probably looking for a small capacity around 5.xx cubic feet.

Thanks;  ken
