Dave;

Yes it did. I took another look at the case and there are two pins holding
the gear mechanism on the shaft. It turns out that you have to remove
these pins by knocking them out, then I was able to separate the two
halves once the gear drive was removed and get to the batteries. A little
Rejuvenation of the Ni-cads was all that was needed this time. I must of
let the thing sit too long in a discharged state.

BTW, I am looking forward to next month's Drsnews letter.
