Hi Daniel,
On 12/13/06, Daniel Holth <dholth@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Are the Haiku project's modifications to trac maintained as an open
source project? The hierarchical category system in Haiku's modified
trac ticket system would be useful to me.
Yes, they are, but it's not official. I'm hosting them in two
Mercurial repositories (for original files and patched files):
http://haiku-os.org/repos/trac/original
http://haiku-os.org/repos/trac/patched
The .py source files belong to the trac/ticket folder. They contain
some more modifications. For example, end-users can't modify certain
ticket fields (e.g.: milestone, priority, etc.) because they shouldn't
manipulate our planning process without asking the developers. For
example, for users their issue often has high priority, but on the
grand scale it might be a minor problem.
Please note that we still have open tickets on this:
* child tickets can't inherit the owner from the parent (you must
specify it manually)
* the admin interface doesn't allow for renaming the parent and its
children in a single step
* maybe: the query page could use something better than "starts with"
to find child tickets
If you're going to fix this, could you please share your patches with
us? I'd like to either submit this officially to the Trac team or make
a plugin if they don't want to integrate it.
Sorry, Trac doesn't work well on our current server. This will
hopefully be fixed, soon.
Bye,
Waldemar Kornewald
