I think you misunderstood me. I would consider it a waste of time if my
presence is not required or desired, which is what Remi first implied
and eventually confirmed.

I totally agree with you. I also thought this was supposed to be a call
for an open meeting. It was Remi who wanted to make it private, not me,
so you are barking at the wrong tree here.
