My comment ("NOTE: Those changes are untested yet. Don't update!") in 
r24508 was really not just for this revision. The legacy binutils/gcc tree 
is kind of work in progress at the moment. I didn't expect that the 
i586-pc-beos cross compiler wouldn't build at the moment (particularly 
since the i586-pc-haiku does build and work well, as it seems), but I'm not 
utterly surprised either. If you need to check out the build tools, use 
r24507 for the legacy tools for the time being. I'll soon switch the build 
system to i586-pc-haiku, which should solve the current problems.
