Well, I have to admit to being a bit of a Lovecraft fan. His works are
still extremely popular and I have several ideas that I would like to
use to create a truly unique Lovecraftian horror RPG with lots of
fantasy elements.
That aside, I'm coming round more and more to the idea that Lovecraft's
works are indeed in the public domain. I would like some third party
confirmation about this (i.e. publication on Project Gutenberg). Until
then you are quite correct, generic horror RPG rules would probably
suffice.
