[dokuwiki] I can't create new pages

Hello,
I just set up a dokuwiki on my (hosted) website. I can create pages at
its root, but I can't create pages in a namespace. Here's what I do:
1 - I type "english_manual:test_page" in the search box
2 - I press the "Create this page" button
3 - I edit the page
4 - I save
5 - Here's what displayed then:
This topic does not exist yet You\u2019ve followed a link to a topic
that doesn\u2019t exist yet. If permissions allow, you may create it by
using the Create this page button.
And the "Create this page" button appears!
What could be wrong with my setup?
