[dokuwiki] Can dokuwiki talk to Microsoft SQL server?

I know there is SQL (Experimental plugin) for dokuwiki to execute an SQL query
on a database and displays the result as a table. Does this plugin work with
Microsoft SQL as well? If not is there a way to display the date grabbed from
the database on dokuwiki?
