[dokuwiki] ACL too restrictive ?

Hi,
I'm trying to setup the ACL. It seems to be too restrictful by
default, to the point where I can't get to the login page because I'm
unauthorized.
I've read http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:acl and did pretty much the
same thing with useacl, openregister, superuser and authtype.
I've got one user in users.auth.php (I made sure login is in lowercase).
I've been using a previous versions of dokuwiki a couple month ago (in
may I believe, I got lazy afterward and I just got back to that piece
of work), and it seemed to work ok back then. But I've just installed
the newest version, Have I missed something in between ? Is there
something else to do that hasn't been written in the wiki ? or have I
forgotten something ?
