[dokuwiki] Dokuwiki nonfunctional after upgrading to 2005-07-01

I'm running FreeBSD. I upgraded my installation to 2005-07-01 and now
Dokuwiki will only tell me that that topic has not been created when the
.txt files clearly exist in the data directory. I manually upgraded as
well, copying everything over as instructed in the wiki. A do=check
gives me the following:
DokuWiki version: Release 2005-07-01
PHP version 4.3.11
Changelog is writable
Datadir is writable
Attic is writable
Mediadir is writable
Cachedir is writable
conf/users.auth.php is writable
mb_string extension is available and will be used
Your current permission for this page is 1
The current page is not writable by the webserver
The current page is not writable you
The line that confuses me is the one saying the webserver cannot write
the page. All the necessary files belong completely to the Apache user
and can read/write them fine. It looks like my changes.log file got
wiped though =( Perhaps I need to contact the FreeBSD port maintainer to
flag the directory structure changes in his port. I just don't
understand why it can't at least display the pages that clearly exist in
the FS hierarchy.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
