[dokuwiki] SVG Support

I'm searching for a convenient way to embed svg images into Dokuwiki.
I found an old plugin and some hacks to convert svg code into a
bitmap image. I would like to have something similar to the MediaWiki
svg conversion. If a svg image is uploaded and referenced in the
wiki, a png image is automatically generated and displayed instead of
the svg. If you click on the png image you get the details for the
png image and a link to the svg file.
Is it possible to do this with an existing plugin?
