[dokuwiki] Password security

Hi all
I have just started using docuwiki and has previously used Mediawiki. I
am no PHP shark and is wondering if it is not more unsafe as I suppose
Docuwiki store users passwords in a texftile. Isn't this somewhat more
unsafe than if it was stored in a database?
