[dokuwiki] mixing javascript libraries

I've got a quite elaborate javascript library that I included in a
plugin's script.js file. Now I want to reference the same library in a
template. I don't want to include it twice. But I don't want to make
them depending on each other if possible.

I'm wondering if there is a way to accomplish this? If there would be
a different way to include the library as separate files and be able
to identify if the file exists?
