[dokuwiki] ACL Sendmail Problems

Hi,
I have just set up a new Dokuwiki installation and want to make use of user
authentication for the first time. But when I try to register a user, dokuwiki
can't send the confirmation e-mail with the password.
Sendmail is installed on the Webserver. I am using Webspace (ftp access only)
at hosteurope.de.
I don't know if this is of any use but "sendmail_path" is /usr/sbin/sendmail -t
-i.
Is there anything I need to change in /inc/mail.php?
Any help would be appreciated.
