[dokuwiki] Internal Link dialog

Hi everybody,
does anybody know of a way to implement the "Quicksearch" functionality
for internal linking?
Usecase:
A user wants to set a link to internal wiki page. Clicking the internal
link button pops up a layer where he and can now start typing the page
name. With each letter there appears a list of existing pages that match
the pattern he is entering. If he sees the desired page in this list, he
simply clicks on it and the link to the page is created. All in all very
similar to the Quicksearch functionality.
Background:
After using Dokuwiki for some time with mostly noch-technical staff, we
decided to go with a flat hierarchy (all pages exist in the "pages"
root), because people had been overwhelmed with linking between
different namespaces. Now we have a flat hierarchy, but many pages with
similar names - it would make linking for staff a lot easier if they
could narrow down the pages by entering a pattern and then simply select
the desired link target.
I looked in the manual and other resources at http://wiki.splitbrain.org
as well as the mailing list archives, but could not really find
something in this area. So do you know of a plugin or hidden pref that
would implement the behavior as described above?
Thanks a lot, and thank you very much for Dokuwiki!
Cheers,
Gregor
