[dokuwiki] uploading images?

I am not sure if this is newly broken (or has been broken all along --
but I just noticed it yesterday.)
I have been trying to upload a "secure" image (one which only
student's in a particular couse section can see) but it appears to NOT
work; as a test I wanted to upload a jaxpm.gif file so that I can link
it to the "instructor" page (which is itself secure via ACL.)
The file was uploaded as JaxPM.gif but the
javascript:mediaSelect(':jaxpm.gif') (as you can see) wants to use
"lowercase".
Should not the directory "scanner" see the fact that the file in
question got uploaded as case-sensitive?
