[dokuwiki] "memory size" Error

Anybody else seen this recently?
"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 85165 bytes) in [...]/inc/parser/lexer.php on line 127"
I get it (or similar bytes) on a rather large page (about 100K) with many
tables (about 1850 rows in about 3 columns in about 12 tables). I can repeat
the error by editing or adding a "?purge" parameter to the URL. I'm using
devel from a couple weeks ago; I'll try to update by this weekend and
retest.
I can alleviate the error by upping memory in php.ini to "memory_limit =
48M", but is that the correct solution?
