i understand the way you look at this. but you can only consider it a  
feature, if it really works.
the problem is, that when you insert a root pic via mediamanager  
(which most people do), the mediamanager inserts:
    {{my_pic.png}}

and when you do this in

    name:space:page

it wont display in the end. test it, you'll see.

so, either we fix the mediamanager, and therefor all existing pages  
need to be updated too, or we apply my patch.
i hope to be clearer now ;)
